LAKELAND - Mrs. Mildred B. Dorsey, 93, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at LRMC due to heart failure.
Mrs. Dorsey was born April 17, 1915 in Lakeland to Harvey and Alice Bates. Mildred attended Outreach Baptist Church and graduated from Lakeland High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Dorsey; siblings, Buster Bates, John Bates, Evelyn Waters and Andrew Bates. Her survivors include two brothers, William C. Bates of Jackson, GA and Cleve Bates of Lakeland; and a sister, Louise Olender of Lakeland.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Outreach Baptist Church or Calvary Baptist Church.
A visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel. The graveside funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Socrum Cemetery.
