rover Cleveland Bates, passed away December 29, 2020. He was born on January 6, 1931 in Lakeland, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Hannah, and his five children: Sharon Robson (Tim), Timothy Bates (Carol), Mark Bates (Donna), Joanie Odum (Mike), Greg Bates (Tracy), 17 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Louise Olender.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 65 years and served as a faithful deacon and teacher for many years. He retired at the age of 62 from People’s Gas Company.
There will be a virtual service on Saturday, January 2 at 2 PM via www.calvaryonline.com. Condolences to family at www.lakelandfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church Missions Program or Building Fund.
