Bessie M. Voorhees, Jan. 25, 1903 - Nov. 27, 1993, Bessie M. VOORHEES, 90, Milford, formerly of 1104 Wabash, died at 8:02 p.m. Saturday at Lakeland Loving Care Nursing Home, Milford, where she had lived since 1989. She was born in Rocheser to William and Emma WALTERS BALDWIN. She lived on a farm in the Burton area from 1910 to 1940 before moving to Rochester. A graduate of South Bend Business College, she was a former secretary of the Brown and Brown law firm, and for 25 years worked as a clerk in the former Wiles Department Store. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy SKIRVIN, Warsaw; a son, Lynn VOORHEES, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Diana WOOLLEY, Syracuse; Gene Alan SKIRVIN, Knox; Lisa ZOLLINGER, Goshen; Christy, Michelle, and Ryan VOORHEES, Fort Wayne; three great-grandsons; a sister, Bernice HENDERSON, Avon Park, Fla.; a brother, William J. BALDWIN, Sr., Rochester and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death was a sister, Ethel WILLIAMS. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Carl RICKS officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and one hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Historical Society for the restoration of the William Poke house.
