Mabel Jenkins was born to Joseph Ruben and Louisa Jane Harris Jenkins on the family farm in Republic County, Kansas just South of Chester, Nebraska on April 22, 1890 and passed away on December 1, 1971 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 8 days.
She grew to womanhood on the family farm and attended Exelsior school, also she attended Sunday School at the Excelsior school house.
She was married to John Thomas Bise, of Belleville, Kansas on February 15, 1909 at Hebron, Nebraska. They farmed in the Byron and Nora area until February 1943 when they moved to Ruskin, Nebraska.
Five children were born to this union. Two of whom are living: Lawrence Bise of North Platte, Nebraska and Mrs. Homer (Helen) Biltoft of Nora. She leaves to morn (sic) her passing her two children, Lawrence and Helen, 11 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Also four sisters: Mrs. Bertie Randels of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Mrs. Lizzie Bentz of Fairbury, Nebraska, Mrs. Lee (Alice) George of Belleville, Kansas, Mrs. J.R. (Carrie) Dettman of Narka, Kansas and one brother, Roy Jenkins of Belleville, Kansas.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Tom on September 17, 1950. Two sons, Kenneth and Rex in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ina) Fisher who passed away on March 23, 1956. Two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Also her parents and two brothers, Francis and Charles.
She entered the Good Samaritan Home in Superior on June 30, 1965 due to failing health. While in the home she attended the Nazarine Church in Superior when her health permitted.

She entered the Nuckolls County Hospital on November 30 and passed away on December 1, 1971.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 4, 1971 from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. The Rev. Ted Dodd officiated. Burial was in the Chester, Nebraska Cemetery.
