Funeral services for Thelma Irene Armstrong were held March 31 at First Baptist Church in Union City with Rev. Eric Stock officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Dell Cemetery northwest of Minco. Services were under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Armstrong died March 27 at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Dec. 13, 1921, in Covington. In 1953 she moved from Lawton to Union City. She was a Gold Star Mother and member of First Baptist Church in Union City and El Reno VFW Auxiliary Post 382.

She is survived by a son, Dean Armstrong of Union City; daughters, Hazel of Oklahoma City, Velta Taylor of Edmond, Mary Lou of Minco, Barbara Kennedy, Pam Bradley and Karla Payne, all of El Reno; a brother, James Hedrick of Wichita, Kan.; a twin sister, Velma Garrett of Lawton, and sisters, Ruby Slimp of El Reno and Ruth Bybee of Corn; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
