Waycross Journal-Herald, September 29, 1934:


Mrs. Martha Cason Walden, 80, life-long resident of Ware county and a member of one of the pioneer families of this section, died Saturday morning at her residence, 1640 Ben Hill street.


She was born March 18, 1854, the daughter of the late John B. and Amy McDonald Cason, of near Waycross.


Left to carry on by her children:

Miss May Walden

five sons,:

Frank

R. H.

Tate Walden .. all of Waycross,

Sam Walden of Savannah

T.H. Walden of Brunswick

( two brothers)

W.L. and E.M. Cason of Waycross

(two sisters)

Mrs. W. B. Baker of Fernandina, Fla., and Mrs. B. F. Crosby of Port Arthur, Texas.


Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence, conducted by the Rev. J.W. Hayes of the Hebardville Methodist Church, and the Rev. M. P. Cain of Parkside Presbyterian Church, with interment at Lott cemetery.
