Allen graduated from Breckenridge, High school. He was a retired carpenter. Allen was a 50 year member of the Yantis Masonic Lodge, a 50 year member of the Yantis Chapter of the Eastern Star and member of the First Baptist church in Yantis.
He and his wife, Billye, moved from Dallas to Yantis in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother - Garland Allen on 1 June 2003.
Survived by sister - Gladys Davis; one aunt; several cousins and other relatives.
