He was born on Sept. 10, 1916, in Tonasket to Ora Clyde and Cora (Lowery) Fritts . The family moved to Republic when he was 9 years old. He graduated from Republic High School in 1935.
He married Genevieve Anne McKeen on Jan. 2, 1937, in Spokane. They moved to the Wenatchee area in 1950, where he worked at the Lovitt Mine for several years. He spent a total of 35 years mining before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Fritts was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Three Lakes Golf and Country Club and Senior Bowling.
Survivors include his wife, at the home; four sons, Edwin of Seattle, Richard of Spokane, Thomas of Mayfield, Ky., and Gary of Oregon; three sisters, Florence Clark of Seattle, Mildred Foote of Hillsboro, Ore., and Dorothy Edwards of Wenatchee; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers (Clyde b: 1911 & Leonard b: 1906) and two sisters (Beulah b: 1905 & ?).
