Edwin, known to friends and family as "Ed," was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Fredric and Genevieve Fritts on Mother's Day, May 10, 1937. He grew up in Republic and Wenatchee, Washington.
Ed proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 11 years. He served in Cyprus, Japan, Okinawa and Vietnam.
Ed was a wonderful husband and father. He fell in love with Shelia Ann Sixkiller in 1966 in Oceanside, California. They were married in 1968 and raised four children together in the Seattle, Washington, area.
For 28 years, Ed owned and operated Prompt Auto in Ballard, Washington.
He was a member of the Junior Jaycees of Seattle and a 26-year member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks in Ballard.
Edwin is survived by his devoted wife, Shelia; his children, Larry, Brenda, Karen and Ann; brothers Richard, Gary and Thomas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of Ed's life is being planned for late spring in Port Angeles, with a time and place yet to be established.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, 540 East Eighth Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
