Mrs. Ida Rebecca Long, 75, wife of Samuel W. Long, died at 7:00 last night at Rockingham Memorial Hospital where she been a patient for only about six hours.

Mrs. Long had been in failing health for the past two years, but her condition, was not considered serious until this past Sunday when she became worse.

A daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Cline Click, she was born on May 5, 1876 in the Mossy Creek Community, where she spent the early part of her life.

Following her marriage on Dec. 14, 1899, to Samuel W. Long they came to Bridgewater where she spent the rest of her life.

A woman of deep religious convictions, Mrs. Long was one of the oddest members of the Bridgewater Brethren Church. She took a very active part in church work.

Mrs. Long's kind and gentle Christian personality won her many friends in all walks of life.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel W. Long, and two sons, DeWitt Long, and Arlie Long, both of Winchester; three, sisters, Mrs. Laura V. Simering, of Washington; Mrs. Lizzie Hollen, Bridgewater, and Mrs. Lelia Devier of Bridgewater; one brother, J. Luther Click, of Weyers Cave.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the Bridgewater Brethren Church. Her pastor, the Rev. I. James Eshleman will be in charge, assisted by Rev. Minor C. Miller. Burial will be in the family lot in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Bridgewater.

It is a request of the family that flowers be omitted.

The body now rests at the W. L. Rosenberger Funeral Home in Bridgewater.
