Gerald J. "Jeff" Vom Baur II, 47, of Covington, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in the Ohio State University Hospital while awaiting a heart transplant.

He was born in Salem, Oregon on November 21, 1956, to Gerald J. and Velda Jean Swaim Vom Baur Sr. of Covington.

Other survivors include a maternal grandmother, Loveda Swain; three daughters, Sabrina Bowmon, Elanda Vom Baur and Julie Vom Baur; a son, Gerald J. Vom Baur III; Jeff's fiancé, Christine Asher, and her children, Nicole Crossman, Stephanie Crossman, Ricky Asher, Greg Asher; six grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Carolyn Vom Baur; and two sisters and brother-in-law, Lynn and Joel Glenn, and Tawnie Gerken.

Mr. Vom Baur was a graduate of Covington High School, attended Edison State College and was a Maintenance Supervisor for the Dayton YMCA. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 3, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. in the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, with Bishop Del Cabe officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Covington.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
