Velda Jean Vom Baur, 79, of Covington, died at 11:25 a.m. Friday June 3, 2016. She was born March 26, 1937 in Glen Rose, Texas to Loveda C. (Phipps) Swaim of Glen Rose, Texas and the late Horace W. Swaim. She married Gerald J. Vom Baur in March of 1954 in Salem, Oregon, he preceded her in death May 10, 2011.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (Joel) Glenn of Piqua, Tawnie Vom Baur of West Milton; a son, Curt Vom Baur of Covington; seventeen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Swaim of Eugene, Oregon. She was preceded in death by a son Gerald J. "Jeff" Vom Baur II, a sister Betty Swaim and two grandchildren, Shad Gerken and Julie Vom Baur.

Mrs. Vom Baur attended college and worked at the Evenflo Company. She was an accomplished Dog Groomer having her own salon for many years, cake decorating, flower arranging and genealogy. She loved being with her family, particularly her grandchildren.

A service to honor her life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Bishop Rick Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Covington.
