I will always remember Uncle Coots and Aunt Lillian with affection. They were truly, without exception, loved by all who knew them. Their dedication to God, and to family, responsibility to their fellow men, and sense of humor were outstanding.

Many years ago, before Coots' health failed, he and Lillian were visiting my parents in California. I called from Denver and had the privilege of talking to him. My parting words were, "Coots, if I don't get to see you again on earth, I'll see you in heaven." I never got to see him again.

Fortunately I did get to see Aunt Lillian once more. Late in the summer of 1996, I visited Uncle Junior (her brother) and Aunt Maxine in Ardmore. Lillian extended her visit with them so she would be there during my visit. Those days were a special gift.
