Junior was the son of James Calvin & Elsie Cagle Dodson.

His sisters were Lillian Geneva, Lavinia Georgia, & Loveta Lucille.

He married James Stella "Maxine" Conn in Henrietta, Clay Co, Texas, on January 30, 1947.

Their children were Jimmie Mack, Roger Dale, Steven Wayne, & Gwendolyn Sue. Roger died at the time of birth.

"Services for James Calvin "Junior" Dodson Jr., 79, will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, in Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Brother Ed Lee and Dr. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born March 23, 1929, at Ardmore to James Calvin Sr. and Elsie Lindsey Dodson, he died March 27, 2008, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; an infant son, Roger Dale, 1952; a daughter, Gwen Miller, 1989; and his parents.

Junior was a lifelong resident of this area. He married Maxine Conn Jan. 23, 1945, in Henrietta, Texas. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2006. He married Betty Gipson May 26, 2007, in Ardmore. Junior had retired as a superintendent from Oklahoma State Parks and Recreation, was the retired owner of Dodson's Floral and a rancher.

He loved spending time with his family and out on his farm hunting, fishing and taking care of his cattle. He attend Northeast Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; sons, Jim Dodson Sr. and his wife, Judy, Ardmore/Arizona, Steve Dodson and his fiance, Dora Tipton, Ardmore; grandchildren, Jimmie Dodson Jr. and his fiance, Denise, Robby Dodson and his wife, Sharon, Vance Dodson and his wife, Brandy, Misty Page and her husband, H.D., Aaron Miller and his wife, Heather, Daron Miller and his wife, Amanda, Jesse Dodson and Gerald Tibbs, all Ardmore; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Aaron Miller, Daron Miller, Jimmie Dodson, Robby Dodson, Vance Dodson and Jesse Dodson.

Services are under the direction of Craddock Funeral Home."
