Theophilus C. Chambers was my maternal gg grandfather. He enlisted at age 37 for the Civil War with the 83rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company I. He was wounded with a gun shot to the left thigh and taken prisoner at Laurel Hill, Va. He was held as a POW at Andersonville Prison for nearly a year. T.C. went onto father 16 children with his beautiful bride; Julia Ann Moor.
He was a war hero!
