Her parents were:

John Witt/Dewitt
1758-1820
and

Nancy Elizabeth Culbertson
(Abt 1770-15 Aug 1841)

Alternative life dates for Nancy are 1803-1838.

She married:

Isaac Baldwin Sherman
1800–1852

Their children were:

Abel D. (DeWitt?) Sherman 1824–1852
Henry Clay Sherman MD 1828–1906
Charlotte Sherman 1830–
Sarah Baldwin Sherman 1831–1910
Elizabeth Sherman 1833–1914
Giles Sherman 1834–1850

In the "Jackson County WV Past and Present" book on pg 427 Nancy Sherman's descendant Lois Hopwood Marchand wrote an article about her ancestry. This 1990 book was published by the Jackson County Historical Society.

In this article Lois provided Nancy's death date.

She states that Nancy was buried in the Muses Bottom Cemetery. After searching for it, she was told that the cemetery had been flooded many times and that graves had been moved.

I do not know if there was a separate cemetery called the Muses Bottom cemetery or if it was really what is now called the DeWitt/Smith cemetery.

Nancy has been listed as buried in the DeWitt cemetery, but her grave marker is not evident.
