Clarence William Browder, Sr. is the son of William Edmond and Martha "Mattie" A. Fite Browder. Clarence married Mary Agnes Gibboney, they had two known children: Clarence William Browder, Jr. and Lyles Mildred "Sue" Browder.


Browder – Clarence W. Sr., age 65, of 712 Broad St., Sweetwater, died Saturday evening at his home. He had been employed by the city of Sweetwater as city engineer since 1950. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Sam (Sue) Littleton of Nashville; one son, Clarence W. Browder Jr., Jacksonville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Browder, Sweetwater, and Neal (Pat) Browder of Knoxville; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Sherlin, Mrs. Herman Pardue. Mrs. J. Homer Bright, all of Sweetwater. Mrs. Thomas Langley. and Mrs. Claude Henderson, both of Chattanooga. The body is at Kyker Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 till 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Douglas Brown officiating. Interment will be in West View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund.
