Visitation was at Schoenberger Funeral Home in Perham, MN. And Interment was in St Joseph's Cemetery, in Perham.
Pallbearers were Norman Meyer Mac Tobkin, Eugene Stoll, Joe Frazier, Vernon Fiedler and Pat Johnson
Mr. Ternus, who died suddenly at his home on May 19, 1978 was born on Sept. 8, 1909 to Frank and Christinia Ternus at Humphrey, NE.
On May 1, 1934, he married Evelyn Bender of Cornlea, NE. at Cornlea. Following their marriage he farmed in the Humphrey area until moving to Perham in 1951. He also farmed in the Perham and Rush Lake areas in Minnesota.
Besides farming he was a Machinery Dealer, Irrigation Dealer, Seed Corn Deler and Part Owner of Dent Equity Mill. He had retired and moved from his farm to a new home in Dent Just three weeks prior to his death
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; sons; LeRoy of Fridley, MN. Dean of Minneapolis, MN, Gerald of White Bear Lake, MN, Wayne, Robert, and Douglas of Minneapolis, MN Duane of New York Mills, MN, Gilbert of Perham, MN; daughters; Mrs Eugene (Marlene) Krekelberg of Eagan, MN, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Van Ysseldyk, Anoka, MN, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Krekelberg and Joyce of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, George and Dick of Humphrey, NE, Joe of Vinton, IA, Eugene of Blackfoot, Idaho, Jerome of Klamath Falls, OR, Lawrence of Perham; sisters Mrs. Stanley (Eleanor) Garb of Chicago, IL Mrs. Ed (Cecelia) Ramaekers and Mrs. Joe (Mary Ann) Ramaekers of Genoa, NE and 17 grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a son Melvin, who was killed in an auto accident in September 1976.
Friends and relatives present at the funeral from a distance were from Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and St. Paul.
