Funeral services for Olive M. Booton, 79, of Lake Park, were held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1985, 2 p.m. at the Donovan-Leyson Chapel, in Spirit Lake, with Rev. Walter Hamer officiating. Mrs. Booton died Sunday, Aug. 18, 1985 at the Lake Park Care Center.
Organist Mary Lou Ayres accompanied Bob Cosens, soloist, as he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden." Pallbearers were Robert Hanson, Kirby Booton, Leslie Booton, Ron Booton, Steve Daly and Lawrence Gath. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, in Spirit Lake.
Mrs. Olive Marie Booton was born to Ora and Sarah Webber at Spirit Lake on Nov. 5, 1905. She attended school at Spirit Lake, graduating in 1924.
In 1928 she married Les Hazard. One daughter, Jane, was born to this union. On March 16, 1949 she married Ivan Booton at Jackson, MN.
Mrs. Booton worked as a clerk at Chozen's, in Spirit Lake. The couple owned and operated a café in Spirit Lake. They resided in Spencer, Belmond and Spirit Lake.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Spirit Lake, and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Jean Gath and husband, Ernie; one grandson, Daniel Gath and his wife, Cindy; one sister, Mrs. Leona Booton; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
The Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home, in Spirit Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
