Services for Leona M. Booton, Milford, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Union Memorial Church, Milford. Rev. Leonard Root officiated. Music was provided by Gerry Sternberg, organist, and Bovo Austin, soloist. She sang, "Amazing Grace" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee."
Pallbearers were Kirby Booton, Steve Daly, Jon Dickinson, Dan Gath, Bob Hansen, and Jim O'Neill. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Daly and Rocky Dickinson.
Leona, daughter of Ora W. and Sarah E. Webber, was born April 21, 1911 at Spirit Lake. He received his education from Spirit Lake Consolidated School.
On Sept. 3, 1929 she married Leslie A. Booton at Milford. She was a nurses aid at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and Hilltop Care Center. She also did home care nursing and was a housekeeper and cook. She was a member of the Union Memorial Church, Milford. She enjoyed her family, fishing, gardening, and reading.
Mrs. Booton, 80, died Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Othello and Earl Webber, and three sisters, Pearl Withers, Flossie Zertoss, and Olive Booton.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie, Milford; two sons, Ron and Enic Booton, and Leslie Booton, all of Milford; two daughters, Barb Dickinson, Alta, and Joanne and Wayne Hansen, Algona; 10 grandchildren, Rick Daley, Yuma, AZ, Steve Daly, Spencer, Vicki Page, Storm Lake, Jon Dickinson, Fort Rucker, AL, Dana Messerele, Perry, Rocky Dickinson, Sacramento, CA, Cindy Hansen, Cleveland, OH, Bob Hansen, Algona, Kirby Booton, Mt. Pleasant, and Kristi Booton, Milford; nine great grandchildren.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake. Turner Funeral Home, Milford, was in charge of arrangements.
