John E. Hamilton, 75, of 4910 7th St., Moline, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died at 9:34 Saturday night in Lutheran Hospital after 2 weeks of illness.
Services will be held at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon in the Esterdahl Chapel with Rev. Robert Birdsell, pastor of Gordon Memorial and Plymouth United Churches of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call the chapel.
Mr. Hamilton was born Aug.20, 1890, in LeRoy Township, Benton County, Iowa, and resided in this area as a young man. He was employed as a Pari mutuel ticket seller at race tracks in Cleveland and Little Rock, Ark., for 45 years, working Oct. 30, the closing date of the races in Cleveland.
He married Daisy Engstrom on Nov. 2, 1965 in Cleveland. As young adults the two were professional singers together in this area before he moved to Cleveland.
Surviving are the widow and four nieces.
Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
