ESTEL BILBREY
Estel "Pop" Bilbrey, 81, of Crossville, passed away April 3, 2001. Funeral services were conducted April 5 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Woody Cemetery. Bro. Johnny Ray Bertram and Bro. Robert Wright officiated, with special music by Debbie Wright.
Mr. Bilbrey was born May 19, 1919, in Putnam County, TN, the son of Vanus and Ova Phillips Bilbrey.
He was a sawyer, and a member of Pilgrim's Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Medley Bilbrey of Crossville; sons, J.V. Bilbrey, Harlan Bilbrey, Terry Bilbrey, Jerry Bilbrey, Charles Medley, Jerry Medley, Jimmy Medley and Joe Medley, all of Crossville; daughters, Mazel Bilbrey and Adean Vaughn, both of Monterey, and Gwen Pryor, Jeanette King, Brenda Swallows and Kathy Medley Johnson, all of Crossville; sisters, Velva Padgett and Delvia Melton, both of Monterey; brothers, Destel Bilbrey of Clarkrange and Bestel Bilbrey of Monterey; and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four daughters, Grace Edith Bilbrey, Margie Louise Bilbrey, Ernestine Bilbrey and Willene Bilbrey; one brother, Vestel Bilbrey; and four sisters, Elsie McCowns, Elvie Swallows, Delsie Swallows and Belva Phillips.
Pallbearers were Glenn Clark, Earnest Achey, David Gaskins, Derrik Williams, Raymond Maynard, Buddy Johnson, Bobby Medley and J.D. Bilbrey.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
