Beth Whatcott 1923 ~ 2009 FILLMORE, UTAH: Our Mom, Grandmother and Friend passed away peacefully from cancer on Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
Beth B. Whatcott was born May 11, 1923 to Orlo V. Barthlomew and Zola Lyman in Fillmore, Utah. She married Garn A. Whatcott on August 7, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple on September 22, 1990.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garn A. Whatcott, brothers - Duane, Carlyle, and Francis Bartholomew. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Stephenson, Fillmore; her four children: Bart A. Whatcott (Nola Bemis), Kanosh; Tracy A. Whatcott (Lori Robison), Fillmore; Jana Cochell (Monty Cochell), Layton; Brett A. Whatcott (Cymoni Andengaard), Pleasant Grove.
Mom enjoyed her 13 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held various positions and also had a great love for cooking and making candy. Fudge at Christmas time was her specialty. She worked at the Millard High School cafeteria as one of the lunch ladies for 27 years.
A special thanks to the Hospice program and their staff. We would especially like to thank Aunt Shirley who spent many hours comforting mom.
There will be a visitation with family and friends on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 21st from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Fillmore LDS 1st and 4th Ward on 290 E. 500 South. Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fillmore Cemetery.
