Elizabeth Hansen, 83, Champaign, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday (March 12, 2009) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Champaign.

Her memorial service was Monday at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Kurt Flora officiated. Inurnment will be at a later date in Park Hill Mausoluem, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to Illini Heritage Rehab of Champaign.

She was born May 20, 1925, in Clarence, daughter of James and Pearl Whitmus Savage. She married Weldon Hansen on Oct. 27, 1946, in Gibson City. He died June 29, 2001.

Surviving are her son, Fred Hansen, and granddaughter, Jamie Hansen, both of Champaign; and two sisters, Francis Savage, Bloomington, and Ethel Carnahan, Saybrook.

She was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Dan Hansen, April 21, 2007; one sister, Gladys Heindselman; and one uncle, Walter Savage.

Elizabeth graduated from Saybrook High School. She was an avid bowler and with her husband, Weldon, enjoyed dancing and functions at the Loyal Order of The Moose, Lodge 745, where they were members. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family.
