Mount Hope

Eisenhauer, Anthony J. "Ike," 80, died Thursday, June 15, 2000. Service 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, United Methodist Church.

Mr. Eisenhauer was born Feb. 21, 1920, at Council Grove, the son of Anthony Joseph "AJ" and Hazel Eisenhauer Sr., attending school in Bushong. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. Ike retired from Shamrock Tire after 15 years of sales and delivering tires to southeastern and southwestern Kansas. He also farmed and raised Palomino and Quarter horses.

He married Bernice Aleen Dick on Nov. 27, 1957, at Mount Hope. He was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, American Legion, SodBusters Camping Club and Mount Hope Masonic Lodge.

Preceded in death: parents; sister, Mary Holcom; brother, Edward Eisenhauer. Survivors: wife, Bernice; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kenny Lewellen of Wichita, Leigh Ann and Gene Bauer of Yukon, Okla.; sons, Larry, Joe, addresses unknown; sisters, Zelda Blair of Emporia, Ruth Young, Doris Franklin, Sharon Holcolm, all of Salina; brother, Harry of Lamar, Colo.; grandchildren, Evan, Brittany and Jordan Perriman, all of Mount Hope, Austin Lewellen of Wichita, Gena, MacKenzie and Megan Bauer, all of Yukon, Okla.; many nieces and nephews. Memorials have been established with Mount Hope Emergency Medical Service, Mount Hope United Methodist Church and World War II Memorial Fund. Wulf-Ast Mortuary.
