Sometime before June, 1917, John married Catherine F. Bart. The date and place of the marriage are unknown at this time. The couple had four children, two sons and two daughters. Their sons were Addison and John. Their daughters were Dorothy and Catherine.

The December 14, 1916 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer listed a property transfer involving John. He transfered lot 47, section E, of the plan Lawton in Camden to Peter Burzynski for $1.

When John registered for the draft for WWII, he and his family were living at 93 White Horse Pike, in Berlin, New Jersey. He was still working as a machinist for Samuel M. Langston. The company was located at 6th and Jefferson Sts, in Camden. At the time, he was 5'8" and weighed 165 lbs.
