Reesedale, Aug 22. - Emanuel Johns, 80-year old resident of this place died Monday morning, August 22, 1949, at 5:45 o'clock in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Goldie Edwards. He was born at French's Corners, a son of the late Henry and Caroline (Hooks) Johns. His entire lifetime has been spent in this section. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Edwards. Reesedale and Mrs. Fred Weaver of Evans City; one son, Jerry Johns, Butler R.D. 3; one brother, Hugh Johns, Adrian R.D. 1; one sister, Mrs. Rosie Cornman, West Kittanning and one half-brother, Therman Gibson of Ford Cliff. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Friends are being received in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Limestone Church of God. Rev. Walter Kennedy, pastor of the Templeton and Goheenville Presbyterian churches will be in charge. Burial will be made in the Johns cemetery. The Walker funeral home Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
