Mrs. Kirkland was a member of a pioneer family of Winn parish. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jackson, and the widow of the late John Kirkland of Gansville. She suffered a stroke four months ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rawson Taylor of Dodson; Mrs. D. F. Whitehead of Shreveport; one son, W. G. Kirkland of Jonesboro; four sisters, Mrs. J.H. Martin, Mrs. Jennie McLean and Miss Prentice Jackson of Winnfield; and Mrs. Ella Drummonds of Hodge; one brother, Sam Jackson of Winnfield, and three grandchildren.
