Phyllis Jean McCloud, 57, Ozark, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2000 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.

Phyllis was born June 20, 1942, in St. Louis to William Fisk and Darleen (Crabtree) McCloud. She loved her family and many friends and enjoyed computers and academics. A Navy veteran, she served 8 years in Full Military Service and 15 years in the Reserves.

Phyllis was a Lab Analyst for the United States Customs Service and, also, touched many lives as an Emergency Medical Technician for numerous hospitals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, a brother, William “Bill” McCloud, two nephews, Dean and Darren Hammett; and a brother-in-law, Peter Baumgartner. Phyllis is survived by three sisters; Sharron Baumgartner, Ozark, Cheryl Newberry and husband, Michael, Katy, Texas; and Vicky Hitchcock and husband, Randy, Billings; three nephews, Daniel Hammett and wife Holly, Silex; Alex Newberry, Katy, Texas; and Ryan Hitchcock, Billings; two nieces, Patricia McCloud, Marthaville; Ashley Newberry, Katy, Texas; two great-nephews, Evan and Andy Hammett and a great-niece, Taylor Hammett, Silex; special friend, Al Alfultis of Ozark, and many other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.

Graveside services with Full Military Honors was 9 a.m., Wed., Mar. 8, 2000 at Jones-Chastain Cemetery, Nixa with the Reverend Warren Todd officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Harris Funeral Home. No visitation was planned.
