Andrew S Montz, Sr, died on Friday 12 Jul 1963. He was the husband of the late Laura Arnoult and the father of Mrs Joseph Shea, Jr, Mrs Fred Darsom, Mrs Vincent LaBarbara, Andrew Montz and the late Mrs Edward Waffenschmidt, James and Stanley A Montz. He was the brother of Miss Rosa Montz of Laplace and the late Dr Anthony Montz and Mrs Pierre Brady. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mr Montz was age 81 years and a native of Laplace, and a resident of New Orleans the last 60 years. Burial on 13 Jul 1963 at Greenwood Cemetery. He graduated from St Aloysius College in 1900 and Tulane University with a B.E. degree in 1904. He served in the city engineer's office of the city of New Orleans for several years and in 1923 was made city architect serving in that function for 7 years. In addition, he served the school board in an architectural engineering capacity for many years and was a charter member of the Louisiana Society of Real Estate Appraisers.
