In 1849 three of Caleb and Mariah's daughters passed away in a little more than a month of each other. Pheby was among them. It is incomprehensible the devastation and grief their parents endured losing their little daughters. The sisters are all buried in Amanda Cemetery, in Excello, Butler County, Ohio.
