She was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Benton Douglas, Widow of Thomas Marvin Catoe and Alby W. Bowers, Sr.

Mrs. Bowers was a former employee of Town & Country Manufacturing, Skyline Manufacturing, and a member of New Life Christian Outreach.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Grace Catoe and Sarah Ella Morris and a brother, Bobby Douglas.
