Hester was the only child born to Dempsey Boger and Addie Elizabeth (Trull) Poplin. She married John Wayne Adams Sr. and they had two children: Lisa and John Wayne Jr.

Mrs. Hester P. Adams, 55, of Charlotte, NC, died July 24, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital.
Mrs. Adams was born July 19, 1946 in Richmond, VA, a daughter of Addie Trull Poplin and the late Dempsey B. Poplin. She grew up and was educated in Phoenix, AZ. She was a longtime member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of Circle of Rebecca.
She worked as a secretary with the family business, Adams Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., but above all she was a devoted homemaker, making her family her top priority.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hester P. Adams will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 28, 2001 from the sanctuary of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on the Adams family Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the McEwen Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road.
Mrs. Adams was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend and is survived by her husband of 36 years, John Wayne Adams, Sr. of Charlotte; two children, Lisa Adams Koll and her husband, Jeff Koll of Columbia, SC; John Wayne Adams, Jr. of Charlotte; her mother, Mrs. Addie Trull Poplin of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Kirstie and Alexis Koll.
Memorials may be made in remembrance of Mrs. Hester P. Adams to the charity of the donors choosing.
