Dale L. Lilley was born Friday, March 27, 1936, in Durant. Okla., to Jerry Oliver and Iva Mable (Wilson) Lilley. He passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, in Bossier City, La., at the age of 72 years.
Mr. Lilley, a former Durant resident, served in the United States Air Force. He also contracted as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Shreveport, La., as Lilley's Mail Service.
Dale married Margaret Clark in Ada on Nov. 17, 1954.
He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Larry Lilley of Bossier City, La., Debra Cole of southern California and Diana Roberts of Vidor, Texas; brothers, Bob Lilley of Peru, Ind., and Lynnwood Lilley of Durant; grandchildren, Dale Lilley, Jeff Lilley, Evan Cole, Starla Ford, Brittany Jo Roberts, Cheyenne Harrington; and great-grandchildren, Aspen, Ashton and Arika Lilley.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Iva Mable Lilley; son, Robert Dale Lilley; brothers, Peewee, J.T. and Kenneth Lilley; sisters, Hazel and Irene.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at the Highland Cemetery chapel in Durant. There will be a family hour visitation at the cemetery from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service.
Mickey Davis will officiate.
