BRAZIL, Ind., March 26--Joshua L. Modisett, 73 years old, died at 10 o'clock Friday night at the late home in West Knight street after a long illness of asthma.
Mrs. Modisett was one of Brazil's oldest and best known citizens. He was a veteran of the civil war, having served through the contest for the north.
There survive four sons, William, Ottis and Nathan, all of Brazil, and James of Chicago. There are ten grandchildren.
The funeral, in charge of the G.A.R. will be conducted from the First Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. J.N. Green will read the funeral discourse. Burial will take place at Cottage Hill.
