James H. Jenkins, 83, retired farmer, died at 10:30 p.m. at Wednesday at his home in Union Township where he had resided since 1917. He had been ill for six months and his condition had been critical for two months.

A son of the late J. W. and Margaret Jenkins, he was born October 1, 1871, in Jennings Township. Years ago he worked in the Oklahoma oil fields. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Van Wert Temple, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.

His wife, the former Myrtle Lawson, whom he married in 1892, preceded him in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alta Jones at home; a son, Bryan Jenkins of Grosse Isle, Mich.; a brother, E. M. Jenkins of North Chestnut Street; two sisters, Emma Williamson of East Sycamore Street and Minnie Peach of Toledo; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Harter and Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos where rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. E. F. Andree. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery.
