RAMSEYER, Inez - Inez Ramseyer, a resident at Greenwood Court, Stratford and formerly of Tavistock, passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, February 21, 2009 in her 81st year. She was born at New Hamburg on February 23, 1928 a daughter at the late Emmanuel Gerber and the former Clara Ann Schlabach. Inez was a member of Tavistock Mennonite Church and a member of the W.M.S.C. of the church. She loved gardening, cooking, her home and her family. Inez is survived by her husband, Oliver Ramseyer, whom she married on June 9, 1951; three daughters, Donna Ramseyer of Sarnia, Colleen and husband Stephen Zehr of Woodstock, Valerie and husband Rob Tamblyn of Tecumseh; nine grandchildren, Tracey Bender and husband Brian Smith, Grant Bender, Matthew Zehr and fiancéé Avelea Post, Blaine Zehr and fiancéé Tracy Smith, Lindsay and Jordan Ballantyne, Charles, Harrison and Julia Tamblyn; two brothers, Willard Gerber of Tavistock, Howard and wife Ada Gerber of New Hamburg; five sisters, Beulah Ruby of Tavistock, Margaret Ruby of Kitchener, Ellen Leis of Tavistock, Audrey and husband Harold Bender of Tavistock, Carol and husband Irvin Wagler of RR 1, Shakespeare; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marion Gerber of RR 1, Bright, Lester Yantzi of New Hamburg, Helen McKenzie of Stratford, Mel and Marg Ramseyer, Don and Bernice Ramseyer, Mayne and Shirley Ramseyer, all of Tavistock, Edith and Percy Schneider of Port Albert, Earl and Carolyn Ramseyer of Stratford, Paul and Betty Lou Ramseyer of New Hamburg, Elaine (Laina) Novak of Toronto along with many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her daughter, Bonnie Bender on January 14, 1997; her brother, Calvin Gerber; her sister, Helen Yantzi; her sisters-in-law, Gladys Gerber and Nancy Yantzi; her brothers-in-law, Henry Ruby, Roy Ruby, Elton Leis, Walter Zehr and John McKenzie and by her nephew, Brian Zehr. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock today (Monday) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul Adams, assisted by John Patterson, will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Building Fund of Tavistock Mennonite Church or Stratford General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 519-655-2431.
