Mabel Nordstrom Services Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Nordstrom, longtime Oak lander, were Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church. She died the preceding Thursday at the Rosebud Community Hospital in Winner, S. D. at age 76.
Mrs. Mabel Anderson Nordstrom was born at Oakland, Sept. 4, 1883. She was baptized at
First Ev. Lutheran Church in 1884 and confirmed here on May 22, 1898. This has been her church home during her entire lifetime. She grew up on a farm near Oakland and attended the Oakland Schools.
Also at First Ev. Lutheran Church she was married to Carl Nordstrom, Nov. 18, 1903. To this union were born four sons, all of whom survive. Residence was made on a farm near Wausa.
Later they moved to Winner where they resided for some years and then moved to Tekamah when retiring in 1935. In 1937 they moved back to Oakland.
In 1957 they made their home with their sons in Winner. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 1958.
Surviving are her four sons, Arnold of Tekamah; Eddie, Clifford and Lloyd all of Winner; 14 grandchildren two sisters, Miss Ellen Anderson and Betty, Mrs. E. Anderson, of Oakland.
Those who preceded her in death are her husband who died in December of 1958 ;
one grandchild; her parents; two brothers, Carl and Eddie; and two sisters, Emma, who died in infancy, and Hanna, Mrs. Alex Colvert.
Pallbearers were Gust Lindstrom, Oscar A. Carlson, Leonard Pettit, Ed J. Nelson, Oscar Erickson and Martin Hagberg.
