Ellen Anderson Rites Monday
Funeral services for Ellen S. Anderson were Monday at the First Lutheran Church. She died the preceding Thursday at an Omaha hospital after a lingering illness at the age of 93 years.
Rev. Lloyd Anderson officiated at the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. James Nelson, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Wallerstedt.
Pallbearers were Allan Stamm, Lewis Mogol, Ellsworth Dose, Phil Axelson, Bob Martin and Joe Fredstrom. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery with Palmquist Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ellen Sofia Anderson was born to Johan and Ida Anderson, July 9, 1876 in Ostergotland, Sweden. She was baptized in infancy in Sweden. She came to America at the age of 6 in 1882 with her parents. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Oakland in May 1895 by Rev. Swanberg.
Although part of her life was spent on a farm near Uehling, the last 64 years she had spent in the Oakland community.
Survivors include a sister, Betty, Mrs. Ed C. Anderson and five nephews, Arnold W. Anderson of Omaha, Arnold and Lloyd Nordstrom of Tekamah, Eddie and Clifford Nordstrom of Winner, S. Dak.
