Funeral services for Dr. John R. Anderson age 70, who died in Roanoke Tuesday evening, were held here Thursday morning and interment made in Oakwood Cemetery.
He is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. E. A. Richardson, Farmville; Mrs. D. M. McIntosh of Wilmington, N.C., and one brother, Dr. R. C. Anderson, of Montreat, N.C.
Dr. Anderson, who had been in declining health for the past several years, is well remembered s one of this citys' most prominent physicians of this time.
He practiced his profession here for over thirty-five years before giving up active duties about six years ago. He had been in Roanoke for the past two months in care of medical, death finally coming Tuesday.
