Services Are Held For George Knox
Final services for George Robert Knox, 83, who died at his home in Susanville last Thursday about 9p.m., were held in the Lucero Funeral Chapel on Monday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. F. E. Lewis of the first Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Janesville Cemetery. Glenn Long sang two solos, "Till we meet again" and Save in the arms of Jesus." Accompanist was Mrs. Lois Towell. Pallbearers were J. E. Shaffer. W. Hail, Ford Clark. J. Johnson. Ed Wilkerson and Hal Woolsey. The deceased was a native of Missouri. He had resided in this community for the past 35 years and was a retired mail route carrier. Mr. and Mrs. Knox have observed their 59th wedding anniversary on Nov. 3. Survivors include his wife, Alice, Susanville, and four sons, Clyde, Susanville, Everett Redwood City, John, San Dimas and Clifford, Bakersfield; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Herchberger, Herlong, and Mrs. Blanche Hail, Susanville, 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
