Mrs Retta Gibson was a daughter of the late John J Jarrett and Jane Howell Jarrett and was the wife of the late David L. Gibson. A member of Silver Chapel Baptist Church, she owned and oprated a general store and was postmistress of Bandana Post Office until he retired. Mrs Gibson was preceded in death by three brothers, Fornum Jarrett, Ralph Jarrett, and twin Fred Jarrett:; nine sisters, Bertha Robinson, Myrtle Ellis, Anna Sparks, Elsie Howell,Geneva Robinson, Nell Boone, Edna Silver, Lorene English, and Daisy Jarrett. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Webb Funeral Home, Spruce Pine, North Carolina.

The house & Store where Retta and Dave Gibson worked & lived was built by Milt Willis approximately 1890.
