Bakersville, North Carolina
Nell Boone, 89 years of age of Rt. 3 Bakersville, died Saturday, December 7th in an Ashville hospital. A native of Bandana, Mitchell County, Mrs. Boone was a daughter of the late John and Jane Jarrett and the wife of William Jennings Boone who died in 1972.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen Starr of Ashville, North Carolina, Sylvia Snead of Baltimore, Maryland and Georgia Warren of Ocala, Florida: three sisters, Myrtle Ellis, Rhetta Gibson and Geneva Robinson, all of Bandana; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2pm Monday in Silver Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member. The Revs. Lee Ayers and Gerald Grindstaff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Sunday at Webb Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before the services.
