John J. Jarrett, was a farmer & Saw Miller. Between 1800-1890. John J. Jarrett bought land from Jimmy Thomas, Tommy Thomas, and Henry Grindstaff,"up the hollow," and built his house.
John J.Jarrett also bought the store and house property at a commissioner's sale in 1932, from Milt Willis, and became a merchant. In 1932 the Post Office in Bandana was moved from the Charlie McNeil house to John Jarrett's store, and his daughter Retta Jarrett became Post Mistresses. Retta Jarrett Gibson continued in the position until the Post Office closed in 1958. The John J. Jarrett's store was torn down in 2006.
