L. Jack Fix born December 3, 1912 on Fix Ridge the winter of the deep snow. He graduated from high school at Kendrick, Idaho in the spring of 1931 and continued on the ranch helping his father with the work until the fall of 1933. Being active in the United Brethren Church and planning to make the ministry his life's Gospel by the Idaho Conference License to preach the Gospel by the Idaho Conference of the United Bretheren in Christ Church in June of 1932. He preached at the Lapwai Mission, the Lenville School House and at the United Brethren Churh in Clarkston, Washington until the fall of 1933.

In September of 1933 he enrolled in Huntington College at Huntington, Indiana. In January of 1934 he was appointed Student Pastor of the United Brethern Church of Muncie, Indiana and served there for one year while continuing his work at the College. During the summer of 1934 he toured the Western part of the United States, traveling more than ten thousand miles less than three months as a member of the Huntington College Couriers, a quartet, singing and peaking at churches and camps in the interest of recruiting students for Huntington College.

He returned home in the spring of 1936 and June 21, 1936 married Beryl Roof of Battle Creek, Michigan. They were married in the United Brethren Church at Juliaetta, Idaho. June 28, 1936 he was ordained as a minister of the Gospel in the United Brethren Church at the Gold Hill Church. Beryl and Jack left immediately for Twin Falls, Idaho where he became the Pastor of the United Brethern Church where he served three years, during which time the congregation grew until it became necessary to enlarge the facilities. Here their first son, Gerald Leslie, was born May 14, 1937,

In July of 1939 they moved to Pixley, California and became the Pastor of the United Brethren Church. The church grew and the faciliteis were enlarged. They enjoyed eight very wonderful years in the ministry at this place.

In July of 1948 they were transferred to Modesto, California where Jack labored as Pastor of the United Brethern Church for three years. During this time he also served as the Superintendent of the California Conference of the United Brethern in Christ Church. He also directed the construction of a large new church building here and a new parsonage. The church grew to become the largest congregation in the state.

In July of 1951 he accepted the appointment to the pastorate of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in San Diego.He served here for seven years and the church grew to become the largest congregation in the denomination in the Western States. Durinf this time the church constructed a new Christian Education unit at the cost of $158,000.00. In July of 1958 they were transferred to Los Angeles, California, but were not happy at this location and only served two and one-half years after which he resigned and accepted a call to pastor what is called Grace Church of Huntington Park, California.
