Juanita Catherine Anderson Rooks, 77, of Hortense died Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the local hospital.

Her husband, Joseph Franklin, preceded Mrs. Rooks in death. A native of Argyle, she attended The Trinity Church of The Nazarene and was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family.

The funeral service was to be held at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Hinton Johnson and Clayton Edgy officiating. Burial was to follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Shade Rooks, Marvin Bone, Eugene Rooks, Frank Cribbs, Ralph Rooks Jr., Warren Cribbs, Timmy Hill and Willie Hill, Jr.

Surviving are six children, Allen Rooks, Faye Thomas, Maybelle Hill, Ralph Rooks and Lisa Cribbs all of Waynesville, and Helen Anderson, of Hortense; a sister, Mamie Strickland, of White Oak; four brothers, Daniel Anderson Jr. of Brunswick, Jimmy Anderson of Waynesville, Avery Anderson of Swansea, S.C., and Robert Anderson, of Brunswick; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and other relatives.

Chambless-Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
