Grace Lee Anderson Barnes, 56 (b. 13 Jan 1942), of Thalman Community, died Wednesday morning (4 Mar 1998) at her residence following a brief illness.

A native of Glynn County, she was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Edward "Dan" Anderson, Sr. and her husband, Clifford L. Barnes.

She was a homemaker and attended the Thalman Baptist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Roberson and Brenda Dahlgren of Waynesville, Betty Griffin of Brunswick, Bonnie Lewis of Hortense and Corinne O'Betty of Waynesville; her mother, Nora B. Strickland Anderson of Thalman; three sisters, Juanita Rooks of Hortense, Mamie Strickland of White Oak and Louise Fulford of Woodbine; four brothers, Dan Anderson, Jr. of Brunswick, Jimmy Anderson of Hortense, Bobby Anderson of Brunswick and Avery Anderson of Swansea, SC; her fiancé, Robert Vinson of Thalman; eight grandchildren, Martey Roberson, Amber Roberson, Paul Bennett, Kristy Bennett, Traci Lewis, Amanda Lewis, Kevin Johns and Ashley Johns; a great grandchild, Joshua Crum; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 7, with Rev. Groover Meeks officiating.

Interment followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Waynesville.

Pallbearers were David Strickland, Anthony Strickland, Robert Strickland, Gregory Strickland, William Albritton and Dewayne Albritton.

Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
