DAVID HARVEY OGLINE, son of Elizabeth EMERT & Phillip OGLINE Jr. from Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Brother of Civil War soldiers & veterans Solomon, Eli & George. Also brother of Hiram, Adam & Josiah. Sally and Mary Ogline.

DAVID OGLINE married the former Lydia BARRON d/o Eve Friedline & Joseph Barron from Somerset, PA in 1862.

Tempted by the adventerous lure and expansion of the west, and possibly avoiding military service enlistment, Lydia, David and their two children traveled westward via covered wagon. Settling first in Illinois, and thereafter futher westward to Iowa. The couple found a homesite in Waterloo building their home in 1868 on what today is known as Franklin Street.

Dying young from Tuberculosis in the Spring of 1877, David left behind his widow Lydia and two of their three children.

+ Mary E. OGLINE - both born in Pennsylvania
+ Amanda E. Ogline, stillborn in Waterloo, Iowa in 1869.
