"Former Resident Dies in California.
Mrs. Charles L. Yates, 70, of Pico Rivera, Calif., died Aug. 30, 1970 of an apparent heart attack. The former Argie Taber was born April 28, 1900 at Brown Branch, Mo., the second daughter of William A. and Ida M. Sherrodd Taber (both deceased.)
She was married to Charles L. Yates at Rome, Mo., Dec. 25, 1917, and was converted and baptized into the Caney General Baptist Church at Brown Branch, Mo., at an early age.
"Funeral and burial took place Sept. 3, 1970 at Rose Hill Gardens in Whittier, California. Survivors include: One son, Roy A. Yates, Delta, Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Ida Young and Miss Helen Yates of the home; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eulah Siler, Brown Branch, Mo.; three brothers, F. E. Taber and Boise Taber, Rt. 3, Ava, Mo., and Dale Taber, Caldwell, Idaho; her step-father, Albert Mackey, Anaheim, Calif.; two half-brothers, Clifton Mackey, Rt. 3, Ava, Mo., and Paul Mackey, Cypress, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Henry of Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Abbott, Sheridan, Oregon; and one aunt, Mrs. Dora Hunt of Garrison, Mo.
