Thomas was a druggist formerly in partnership with Linn Jones in the business known then as Howell & Jones Drug located in the Garde Building next to the old suspension bridge, Oregon City.

THOMAS CHAMBERS HOWELL
GLADSTONE (Special) -- Thomas Chambers Howell, 89, of 1020 Portland Avenue, Gladstone, died Sunday evening at his home in Gladstone following a long illness.
Mr. Howell, who was a retired druggist, was born on January 23, 1869 at Viney Grove, Arkansas and had lived in Gladstone for the last 50 years. He crossed the plains in a covered wagon when three months old with his parents, the late Dr. and Mrs. Squire Davis Howell. He had never married and his hobby was raising flowers for which he became famous.
His only survivors include a niece, Mrs. Verna Setera, Oregon City and a number of nieces and nephews in Corvallis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the Hillside Chapel in Oregon City with internment to follow at the Mt. View Cemetery.
